This cave might not be one of China’s largest, but it is one of the most easily reachable and most stunningly beautiful caves. Yellow Dragon is located in the tourist zone near West Lake in Hangzhou City (a major city near Shanghai on China’s central coast). The formations inside the cave are natural, but colored lights and some man-made elements make this an interesting attraction for casual sightseers as well as cave explorers. Stairs make it easy for people to get an up-close look at the rock formations. Because is offers easy access and has a whimsical atmosphere, Yellow Dragon Cave is a good destination even for people who aren’t interested in exploring underground.

Weird and Wacky Yoga Classes

Weird and wacky yoga classes

Free Spirit Yoga Dance

The class starts with the group sitting in a circle and warming up to a soundtrack of what Wu calls ‘ambient electro and Hindi psytrance’, which basically involves mirroring her stretches, arm and shoulder movements – in particular, the hypnotically twirling ‘lotus fingers’.

Laughter Yoga

Lee starts with a brief explanation of the theory behind laughter yoga, which holds that psychological and physical benefits of laughter are the same whether it’s real or fake, before launching into the first of a series of group exercises.

Intestinal Cleansing Yoga

After the class, we’re overcome with a sense of sheer exhaustion. Fasting and complete rest until the next morning is suggested, and it’s easy to see why: just an hour after it’s over, the cleansing kicks in. According to our instructor, shankha yoga shouldn’t be done more than twice a month, but benefits include weight loss and clearer skin
